There's nothing that says California like a field of golden poppies. The roots have a bright, nearly neon orange residue that's particularly bitter. The whole plant can be used to balance the yin & yang by forcing release of heaviness that lingers. Poppy seeds have an incredible lifespan and can remain active in fertile soil for up to 8 years.
